From Educator to National Voice

For more than 30 years, I’ve worked in classrooms, summer camps, conference halls, and community spaces, witnessing both the beauty and the burden of leadership and working in the classroom. I didn’t start this journey to become a speaker—I started it to serve.

My journey began professionally in 1998. However, it all started in 1995 when I was the true definition of a babysitter; Unlike how they compare working in childcare today.

What began as a calling to educate children grew into a mission to uplift the adults who shape lives every day. Along the way, I learned that leadership isn’t about titles or perfection—it’s about presence, courage, and heart. Today, I bring that lived experience to stages across the country, helping Leaders and Early Childhood Educators reconnect with their purpose and mission.

However, heartbreak came that tainted my vision, almost for good.

Heartbreak comes to us all, but I didn’t think it would come to someone like you. But, when it did, living wasn’t an option for me anymore, and I was ready to say goodbye. However, God sent 4 little angels to remind me of the love I have for them and the love they had for me. These angles I now call my God-babies.

From that moment on, life has been growing and changing, and out of that came Mama Shaun. See, my philosophy for my babies is Im that second mom, grandma, or auntie you didn’t know they needed. But what amazed me the most was that it wasn’t just for the children. The adults needed Mama Shaun, too. But that was prophesied over me many, many years ago.

It was spoken over me in a church service one time. I had just made up my mind to attend the University of the Incarnate Word to obtain my Bachelor's in Child Studies. The only person I told was my mom. I was prayed over without telling a soul what I was about to embark on, when the preacher spoke into my life with the word "Incarnate." He then proceeded to tell me that I would be a mother to all. He equated me to Abraham in the bible. I remember thinking that sounded insane. But here we are 20 years later.
